By now you’ve no doubt heard of him: Paul the Psychic Octopus, the rather adorable octopus who has thus far correctly predicted the winners of every World Cup game in this year’s World Cup tournament in South Africa.

Paul, also known as Psychic Paul, has set the Internet on fire with people scrambling for video clips of the little guy in action.

Paul operates by attaching himself to one of two flags submerged in his tank. The flag he chooses represents the country who will, at least until now, definitely win their matches.

Paul was hatched and lives in Germany, and his specific employment is as an animal oracle used to predict the outcome of games in which Germany’s team is involved. During the prediction process Paul’s given the two flags upon two boxes with food inside them, and which piece of food he chooses is his prediction.

Now the World Cup comes to a close tomorrow with Netherlands vs. Spain, and Psychic Paul’s selected the Spaniards to take it all. You can see Psychic Paul’s prediction in action at YouTube right here.

Paul’s not the only animal oracle in use for the World Cup. Mani the Parakeet of Singapore, another reportedly psychic critter, has contradicted Psychic Paul and chosen Netherlands over Spain!
